Maternal mental health
According to Postpartum Support International (PSI), approximately 15% of new moms will experience postpartum depression. Additionally, around 10% of mothers will experience depression or anxiety disorders during pregnancy. Our clinicians are passionate about providing new moms with the emotional support, coping techniques, and evidence-based care they need to heal from postpartum mental health concerns.
Supporting entrepreneurial mothers
We believe in work-life harmony, meaning that your personal and professional lives can complement each other rather than compete with each other. We enjoy helping mothers explore how their roles as professionals or entrepreneurs can blend with their new roles as mothers, all while still making time for their own self-care and personal growth.
Cultivating healthy attachment
Now more than ever, developing a secure attachment with your little one is key to your child's health and well-being. Our experts are trained in attachment theory and attachment-based therapy, and we're equipped to help you build a healthy relationship with your child. You'll be able to find fulfillment in your bond, and you'll give your child the tools they need to build strong future connections as well.

We offer virtual sessions for people in Los Angeles and throughout the entire state of California. Sessions are provided via a HIPAA-compliant platform, ensuring that privacy and convenience won't be compromised.

FAQs about working with a postpartum therapist
-
Any new parent can develop perinatal mood or anxiety disorders, including non-birthing parents. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), risk factors for postpartum depression include family history of mental health disorders, being a first-time parent, having a baby with special needs, lack of social support, and more.
If you're concerned that you or a loved one may be experiencing postpartum depression, we encourage you to reach out to your healthcare provider and/or a mental health professional.

The postpartum period is typically seen as the six to eight weeks following birth. However, new parents can still develop postpartum depression months (even up to a year) after the birth of their child. Each person's postpartum journey is different, so if you're unsure what your symptoms mean, we recommend consulting with a medical and/or mental health professional.

Talk therapy is often an effective treatment for postpartum depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. Therapists may use a variety of techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, and more. The methods they use will depend on their specific training as well as each client's needs and goals for therapy.
In some cases, your healthcare provider may recommend medication as a treatment for perinatal mental health issues. We do not prescribe medication at our practice, but we can make referrals and recommendations on a case-by-case basis.
